Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin

Hello fellow of Cyberspace, the first 6 months of 2012 have been very busy for Canonical, since they have announced six releases for this year, I for one, I'm just going to concentrate on OS 12.04, so here we go.
This new version has an amount of changes can be seen as each package has had a special treatment to ensure stability and performance. I do not deny that a quick glance looks very similar to 11.10 but that is not how it goes in detail.
The first thing we find is with HUD or Head-Up Display. This novelty is designed for Unity (3D or 2D) and allows us to search the menu or active screen.

Now we also have support for several monitors in an integrated way which is very useful.

In addition there is a new video lens that works with local and online videos (it is compatible with Vimeo, YouTube, Amazon, TED, BBC iPlayer, etc.) Finally.

Some Unity configurations have been integrated in the System Configuration (GNOME Control Center), under "User Interface". They are available for Unity 3D and Unity 2D, however, since not all configurations work with both versions of Unity (for example, you can not change the size of the initiator icon for Unity 2D), only those supported for each version will be displayed. Of Unity. Many other aspects of Unity can be further adjusted using the CompizConfig Configuration Manager or some tools such as Deconfigurations, Ubuntu Tweak or MyUnity.

OSD notifications use the same blur and color as Dash: it is a very popular touch.

Ubuntu One has changed to a new Qt interface by default, replacing the old GTK version.

Now users can change the color of Dash.

A Show Desktop icon is available for the Unity initiator.

A new "initiator selector" has been added.

ALT + TAB switch per workspace (this is configurable and you can use an ALT + TAB switch of multiple work areas by unchecking the "Blas alt-tab to prefer Windows in the current graphics window" check box)

RC6 for Sandy Bridge has been enabled by default. This allows the GPU to enter a state of very low power consumption when the GPU is inactive

DNS resolution is now done through dnsmasq, which should help divide DNS VPNs and faster DNS resolution.

Improved compatibility with ClickPad

Quick lists for most of the default applications and for BFB (the Ubuntu button that opens Dash) Landscape, a systems management tool.

For compatibility with Debian, the Unix sudo group has changed from "admin" to "sudo"

HP will certify Ubuntu 12.04 LTS for its Proliant servers: HP has decided to back Linux, giving system administrators another flexible software option to take advantage of their current and future hardware.

These are the programs that we have pre-installed:

  • Firefox 11.
  • Thunderbird 11.0.
  • Nautilus 3.4.1
  • Gedit 3.4.1
  • Ubuntu Software Center 5.2
  • Leave Dup Backup Tool 22.0
  • LibreOffice 3.5.2
  • Shotwell 0.12.2
  • Rhythmbox 2.96
  • Totem 3.0.1
  • Empathy 3.4.1
  • Transmission 2.51
  • Gwibber 3.4.0
  • GNOME Control Center (System Settings) 3.4.1
  • Unity 5.10 on top of GTK 3.4.1.
  • Rhythmbox has returned for music.
  • These are the programs that we will stop having in this version: Banshee, Tomboy and Gbrain.

Upgrade:
In April 2017, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS reached its end of life. For Ubuntu Advantage customers who can not upgrade to a newer version of Ubuntu Server, Canonical offers Ubuntu 12.04 ESM (Extended Security Maintenance). ESM provides continuous security solutions for the kernel and essential packages until April 2019.

Wolfheart Book 17

In the wake of the Cataclysm, the conflict has engulfed every corner of Azeroth. Hungering for more resources amid the turmoil, the Horde has pressed into Ashenvale to feed its burgeoning war machine. There, acting warchief Garrosh Hellscream has employed a brutal new tactic to conquer the region and crush its night elf defenders, a move that will cripple the Alliance's power throughout the World of Warcraft. Unaware of the disaster brewing in Ashenvale, the night elves' legendary leaders, High Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind and Archdruid Malfurion Stormrage conduct a summit near Darnassus in order to vote the proud worgen of Gilneas into the Alliance. However, resentment of Gilneas and its ruler, Genn Greymane, runs deep in Stormwind's King Varian Wrynn. His refusal to forgive Genn for closing his nation off from the rest of the world years ago endangers more than just the summit: it threatens to unravel the Alliance itself.

Varian's animosity is only one of many unsettling developments in Darnassus. An uneasiness creeps over the once-immortal night elves as the first of them fall victim to the infirmities of age. While they cope with their mortality, tensions flare over the reintroduction of the Highborne, formerly the highest caste of night elf nobility, into their society. Many night elves are unable to pardon the Highborne for the destruction unleashed on Azeroth millennia ago by their reckless use of magic.

When a murdered Highborne is discovered on the outskirts of Darnassus, Malfurion and Tyrande move to stop further bloodshed and unrest by appointing one of the night elves' most cunning and skilled agents to find the killer: the renowned warden Maiev Shadowsong. Yet with all that is transpiring in Darnassus, the Alliance might be powerless to stop the relentless new warchief Garrosh from seizing the whole of Ashenvale.

Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects Book 16

When Azeroth was young, the noble titans appointed the five great dragonflights to safeguard the budding world. Each of the flights' leaders was imbued with a portion of the titans' vast cosmic powers. Together, these majestic Dragon Aspects committed themselves to thwarting any force that threatened the safety of the WORLD OF WARCRAFT.

Over ten thousand years ago, a betrayal by the maddened black Dragon Aspect, Deathwing, shattered the strength and unity of the dragonflights. His most recent assault on Azeroth—the Cataclysm—has left the world in turmoil. At the Maelstrom, the center of Azeroth's instability, former Horde warchief Thrall and other accomplished shaman struggle to keep the world from tearing apart in the wake of Deathwing's attack. Yet a battle also rages within Thrall regarding his new life in the shamanic Earthen Ring, hampering his normally unparalleled abilities.

Unable to focus on his duties, Thrall undertakes a seemingly menial task from an unexpected source: the mysterious green Dragon Aspect, Ysera. This humble endeavor soon becomes a journey spanning the lands of Azeroth and the time ways of history itself, bringing Thrall into contact with ancient dragonflights. Divided by conflict and mistrust, these dragons have become easy prey to a horrific new weapon unleashed by Deathwing's servants... a living nightmare engineered to exterminate Azeroth's winged guardians.

Of even greater concern is a bleak and terrifying possible future glimpsed by Ysera: the Hour of Twilight. Before this apocalyptic vision comes to pass, Thrall must purge his own doubts in order to discover his purpose in the world and aid Azeroth's dragonflights as they face the Twilight of the Aspects.

This is my experience with ZTE Warp

I do not know why but it feels great in the hand its dimensions are 5.10 x 2.70 x 0.45 inches (130 x 69 x 11 mm) and has an acceptable weight for their size of 4.93 oz (140 g )

The TFT screen is capable Multitouch 4.3 inches tien 480 x 800 pixels 217 ppi depth, too low for my taste. The glass is scratch resistant.

It has light sensor, proximity sensor

It has good call quality.

It comes with the operating system Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) comes with Qualcomm MSM8655 Chipset Snapdragon S2 CPU 1GHz going somewhat slow and Adreno 205 GPU

The internal memory is 4 GB, which can not be used in full and has 512 MB of RAM too low for my taste.

The primary camera is of 5 MP, 2560 x 1920 pixels, autofocus, geo-tagging and LED flash allows us to Videos and no front camera.

In the connectivity section we have:
WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g access point.
Bluetooth v3.0, A2DP, EDR something that surprised me a little.
GPS.
And a MicroUSB port v2.

We can use the following file formats:
MP4 / H.264
MP3 / WAV / eAAC +

The battery is strange because it is a Li-Ion 1600 mAh it is hart to reach the 6 hours of daily use.

It has buttons for volume, options, home, back and off, on and standby

This is my experience with HTC Evo Design 4G

As something interesting is if you're like me, I buy it when the phone initially came with Android version 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) installed. But do not worry because it does  let us upgrade to Android 4.03 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

In terms of look it is comfortable and has dimensions 121.9 x 61 x 11.9 mm (4.80 x 2.40 x 0.47 in) with a weight of 147.4 g (5.19 oz) not bad.

Tiene una pantalla LCD táctil capacitiva que además es multitáctil de 16M colores. Con una resolución de 540 x 960 pixeles (~ 275 ppi densidad de píxeles) no te deja desilusionado pero tampoco es la mejor del mercado.

It has a LCD capacitive touch screen which is also multitouch and 16M colors. With a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels (~ 275 ppi pixel density) does not leave you disappointed but it is not the best on the market.

On the technical side has a slow processor is Qualcomm MSM8655 Chipset 1.2GHz Snapdragon S2 which does not quite understand.

The internal memory is smaller than 4 GB, 768 MB of RAM, but brings microSD card slot up to 32 GB

The camera is a 5 MP, 2592x1944 pixels, and brings autofocus, geo-tagging has an LED flash allows you to make videos of 720p video and 1.3 MP secondary camera well below the acceptable.

The in the level of connectivity allows us to hveWi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, WiMAX 802.16 and hotspot can use a Bluetooth v3.0, A2DP has GPS, has a stereo RDS FM radio not bad plus MicroUSB v2.0 USB port.

Soporta los siguientes tipos de Archivos: - MP3 / AAC + / WAV- MP4 / H.264.

For me the most disappointed part it is the battery Li-Ion 1520 mAh has not enough if you are surfing the internet or wi-fi in addition to the quality of the call are unsatisfactory.

It has buttons for volume, search, start, options and back.

This is my experience with Samsung Galaxy S II SPH-D710

Attention this article only deals with the Samsung Galaxy S II SPH-D710 trying.

I really liked the feel of him in my hand their dimensions are 130 x 70 x 10 mm (5.12 x 2.76 x 0.39 in) are very comfortable, perhaps something great for people with small hands and thr weight is very light only weight 130 g (4.59 oz)

Its screen is Super AMOLED Plus multi-touch screen, 16M colors and 480 x 800 esolution pixels (~ 206 ppi pixel density) for my taste pixel density is low. Now I can confirm after happened to me 2 times the protection Corning Gorilla Glass is not perfect and breaks almost as easily.

Comes with the operating system Android v2.3.4 (Gingerbread) something that disappointed me a lot but they let us upgrade to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean has a chip Exynos dual-core 1.2 GHz and it shows special mind to play.

One thing I love is its internal memory of 16 GB yes you are reading well, but 1 GB of RAM is a little short for my taste also has a microSD card slot, which can be up to 32 GB.

Ok now camera primary is 8 MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels, autofocus, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face / smile detection and LED flash, allows us to meka video up to 1080p @ 30fps, is one of the first devices offering Mobile High-Definition Link (Mobile High-Definition Link),  which allows video output uncompressed 1080p HDMI while charging the device at the same time. Now the secondary camera is only 2 MP is it the minimum acceptable.

As connections we have the possibility of Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, access point; Host WiMax. A Bluetooth v3.0, A2DP, apt-X. A-GPS and USB v2.0 microUSB (MHL TV-output)

We may use or edit the following files:
MP4 / DivX / XviD / WMV / H.264 player
MP3 / WAV / eAAC + / AC3 / FLAC player

Has a good photo and video editor.

Now the battery go so fast, I do not know exactly why, it comes with a Li-Ion 1800 mAh and buy 2450mAh battery lasts me more but even if it devours not expect to find 8 hours they promise.

It has buttons for volume, options, home, back, search and off, on and standby.

USB 3.0

USB 3.0
Hi, fellows of Cyberspace, today I want to talk about USB 3.0 and several of its improvements, let us start.
In view of the fact that between 2004 and 2006 came the first external hard drives, allowing storage on Gigabyte and Terabyte, it was clear that USB 2.0 technology, which gave us a speed of 480 Mbit / s would soon be very slow, to This amount of data.
Therefore, in November of 2008 appears in the market the USB 3.0, with the main feature that is the multiplication by 10 of the transfer speed, which happens to be of 4.8 Gbit / s, to this new technology is called; USB 3.0 Super Speed. This is because now the cables allow working with five lines to send and two to receive, allowing bidirectional traffic.
It has also changed the current, which is now 900 milliamps, reducing the charging time of mobile devices.
These new ports have the intelligence rule, that if devices that are connected for a while and are inactive, they immediately go to a low power state.
At the end of 2009, manufacturers such as Asus or Gigabyte presented the basis of the forms with this new revision of the bus. The 3.0 version of this universal connector is 10 times faster than the previous one.
Now 3.0 ports have a light blue color to differentiate them from 2.0 ports
Where you can see a big change is in USB 3.0 Micro-B - The sidecar:
The only solution for USB 3.0 had a smaller connector. It was to take the existing Micro-B connector and stick another connector next to it. This appeared mostly on external hard drives, as they needed more current. The popular theory is that this format will be replaced very quickly by Type-C.
This connector is compatible with USB 1.x and 2.x always losing the advantages of USB 3.0
