The course professor has been; Javier Bussons Gordo, who is Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics and has a Doctorate in Experimental Physics, Javier has been an excellent professor since the course lasted 6 weeks, in which 18 subjects related to astronomy and cosmology were studied, He always knew how to keep the course pleasant and understandable.
The course was very interesting and intense where I had to perform many exercises and even make a solar clock, I have exercised much memory and my memories of calculation.
These are the 18 topics covered by the course:
- The celestial sphere according to different observers.
- Itineraries for the firmament and its constellations.
- Effects of rotation and translation of the Earth.
- Time and its measurement with reference in the Sun and the stars. This covers the study of Day, month, year, calendars.
- The seasons of the year.
- The Sun as a compass, clock and calendar.
- Precession of the equinoxes.
- Our place in the universe.
- Distances in and out of the Solar System.
- Intrinsic and apparent brightness of the stars.
- Gravitation study the works of Johannes Kepler, Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein.
- Orbits and space travel.
- Rotation and translation of planets and their satellites.
- Measurement of the mass of celestial bodies.
- The Moon and its movement throughout the month.
- Moon size and Lunar mapping.
- Eclipses and occultations.
